Stacey’s Strength & SHP’s Support

Stacey’s life began with unimaginable trauma – abuse, addiction in the family home, and instability from a young age. By 16, she was kicked out, later fleeing a coercive and abusive relationship that left her homeless and vulnerable.

Life on the streets was terrifying and lonely. With nowhere to turn, she eventually found safety and support with us.

Today, Stacey is living in one of our hostels and rebuilding her life with the help of her loving sister and her Support Worker, Steven. For the first time in years, she feels hope. And that’s because she’s got you, and us, in her corner.

Stacey’s journey isn’t over yet, it’s a long and tough healing journey but with the support of those who care, she is carving out a new path. S e’s learning to believe in herself again each day.

We’re so proud of you, Stacey.

You get used to the cold. You get used to the hunger. It’s the loneliness you don’t get used to, especially around Christmas. Stacey Read Stacey’s story

Why are monthly donations important?

Our loyal regular givers are an essential part of Single Homeless Project.

Having guaranteed monthly income means we can think big and plan long term – we can be there for Londoners experiencing homelessness whenever we’re needed most.

Why we exist

We began in 1975 when six homeless Londoners set out to challenge the system and make their vision of a safe place to live for everyone a reality. A lot has changed since then, but our spirit hasn’t.

In a city where hundreds are forced into homelessness every day, our work has never been more needed or more challenging. And we’re not shying away. We’re rolling up our sleeves to make change and helping over 10,000 Londoners every year.
