But knowing that you’re in a safe, warm, stable environment where you can sleep comfortably, eat well and be supported by professionals who only want the best for you is a sound basis for the journey to recovery.
We know that not one size fits all, so we run a variety of different types of shelters, hostels, supported accommodation and semi-independent housing all across the city for the Londoners we support to leave homelessness behind.
We also run specific projects for those with severe mental health issues, young people, and women who need specialised support. We also support Londoners through Housing First schemes where conventional homelessness accommodation is not right or has been unsuccessful.
“I finally feel safe. Because I feel safe, I have more energy, am more open to doing things, and am not always looking over my shoulder. I always felt like I was being watched while staying in mixed hostels.

Our ethos is built on compassion, and we put personalised, trauma-informed care at the heart of everything we do.
Our teams work closely with clients in a relationship of mutual respect and trust. We offer intensive, one-to-one support tailored to each person and their needs. This can include help with:
And for many, companionship is crucial. We are part of the Streetvet Accredited Hostels Scheme, so people experiencing homelessness can stay with their pets, who are often their only source of comfort.
The experience of being homeless is dark and traumatic. Understandably, many of the Londoners who come to us are quite wary. After years of negative experiences with services, they’ve lost trust, feel marginalised and let down. Some are dealing with such severe challenges that they have stopped looking after themselves altogether.
Everyone has the potential to recover from the issues that lead to homelessness, no matter how long it takes. We take the time needed to build trust, knowing it can take weeks or months to make any progress. We show up every day, and we don’t give up – because we believe that no one should end up back on the streets.
Our goal is always to support Londoners to rebuild their lives, achieve independence, and embrace a brighter future – whether that means starting a new job and moving into a home or simply just feeling safe, stable, happy and ready for the next day.
